Leaders of University for the Creative Arts Visit the Institute of Creativity and Innovation

From March 14th to 19th, Jane Roscoe, the newly appointed President and Vice-Chancellor of the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), along with Pro Vice-Chancellor Terry Perk and Head of Global Development Linda Hallback, visited the Institute of Creativity and Innovation (ICI) and had in-depth exchange on enhancing the cooperation between the two universities, discussing the next phase of the development of the ICI.

President Jane Roscoe attaches great importance to the cooperation between the two universities and the further development of the ICI. She decided to lead a delegation to visit the ICI within her fifth week of taking office. On March 14th, the delegation first arrived at the ICI and had a discussion with ICI leaders. Dean Qin Jian welcomed President Jane Roscoe and her delegation and gave a report on the ICI's current development and key achievements. He remarked that after four years of efforts, the ICI has initially established a cross-cultural and interdisciplinary international faculty team, with a talent cultivation system that has distinctive features of its own and started to show some initial results in the quality cultivation of talents. President Jane Roscoe spoke highly of the achievements of the ICI, and expressed her gratitude to all faculty and staff for their hard work and cooperation over the past four years. She expressed her willingness to continue to promote the integration of both sides and jointly explore the training of art talents of creativity in the era of artificial intelligence so as to promote the growth of the teacher-student community, and strive to expand the influence of both universities in the field of global artistic creativity and design.

During their visit, the delegation also had meetings with ICI leaders and faculty representatives, held in-depth discussions on the topics such as further integration of both sides’ strengths, and exploring the cultivation of high-level innovative talents in the era of digital technology and artificial intelligence. They also made an onsite inspection at ICI graduation exhibition venue.
