On April 26, 2025, the agreement signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation between the Institute of Creativity and Innovation (ICI), Xiamen University, and the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Conference and Exhibition was grandly held during the opening ceremony of the 8th Xiamen Exhibition Week. Yu Hao, Deputy Director of the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Director of the Conference and Exhibition Bureau, and Wang Yi, Chair of the ICI Council, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. This collaboration aims to deepen industry-education integration and inject innovative momentum into the high-quality development of Xiamen's exhibition industry.
The main visual identity of this Exhibition Week was designed by a team of faculty and students from the ICI. Centered on Xiamen's new maritime routes as its core design concept, the design employs fluid lines and a vibrant color palette to vividly interpret the exhibition's themes: "Innovation, Cooperation, Integration, and Co-Construction," earning high acclaim and praise from the attending guests.
As the sole participating university, the ICI showcased multiple creative works designed by interdisciplinary student teams at this Exhibition Week, receiving wide acclaim from all sectors of society.
This collaboration marks another significant initiative by the ICI to serve local economic development and promote industry-education integration. Leveraging this opportunity, the ICI will fully utilize its distinctive features of Sino-foreign cooperative education and advantages in design disciplines to continuously enhance the quality of talent cultivation. It will collaborate with the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Conference and Exhibition to build an innovative practice platform for industry-education integration, providing creative design support for Xiamen's exhibition industry; establish a two-way talent exchange mechanism to facilitate mutual exchanges of experts and scholars; and create practice teaching bases to cultivate professionals for the exhibition sector, contributing more innovative strength to Xiamen's ambition to become a "renowned international exhibition city.
