From October 29th to 31st., Professor Qin Jian, Dean of ICI led a delegation to Beijing for the 26th China Annual Conference & Expo for International Education (CACIE). During the trip, the delegation also visited the School of New Media Art and Design at Beihang University.
The main events of the 26th CACIE, organised by the China Education Association for International Exchange, were successfully held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing from October 29th to November 1st. Recognised as one of the most influential international education events in the Asia-Pacific region, this year’s CACIE explored the theme "Bridging Education and Beyond". It brought together education leaders, experts, scholars, and industry representatives from over 70 countries and regions to discuss emerging trends in global education. More than 100 bilateral and multilateral events were organized, including the CACIE Plenary, parallel forums, cooperation meetings, and an education exhibition.
The plenary session on October 30th was addressed by Chinese Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng. Shane Reti, New Zealand's Minister for Universities and Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology, delivered a speech as the representative of the Country of Honor. The session also featured keynote addresses from a distinguished lineup of guests, who shared innovative practices and frontier insights from diverse perspectives.
During the events, Dean Qin engaged in in-depth discussions with representatives from a number of domestic and international universities, educational institutions, and media outlets. He shared the institute’s innovative approaches to cross-cultural and interdisciplinary education and its models for international collaboration, sparking extensive discussions among the participants.

While in Beijing, the delegation also visited the School of New Media Art and Design at Beihang University. The two parties held in-depth discussions on a range of key issues, including the course development for undergraduate and postgraduate education, faculty training, academia-industry collaboration, innovative educational practices, as well as the establishment of interdisciplinary research platforms. Both sides expressed a shared commitment to expanding the scope of collaboration and working together to enhance creative and innovative education through the integration of arts and sciences.

Vice Dean He Dongmei and Huang Xinyi, Director of the ICI Global Engagement Center also joined the visit. Looking ahead, the institute aims to build new momentum and strengthen its core competencies in this new phase of development. This will be achieved through sustained partnerships with leading global institutions, the renewal of its educational models, and the consolidation of quality resources.
