On February 2, 2026, a delegation from Jiangnan University, led by Tian Bei, former Vice President of the university, visited the Institute of Creativity and Innovation (ICI). The delegation included Cai Jianying, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, Cao Ming, Dean of the School of Digital Technology and Creative Design, and Li Jian, Assistant Dean of the school. Ms. Wang Yi, Chair of the ICI Council, hosted a warm reception for the guests and held a meeting with them. Senior Advisor Lu Maozu of the ICI, Deputy Deans Gan Senzhong and He Dongmei were also present during the meeting.
Ms. Wang Yi first extended a warm welcome to the delegation, and then introduced the institute’s distinctive features, development history, and achievements of the ICI as a Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution. Deputy Dean Gan Senzhong delivered an address highlighting the innovative educational and training models as well as the characteristics of talent cultivation of the ICI. Professor Lu Maozu elaborated on the in-depth collaboration mechanisms and resource-sharing practices between the Chinese and British partner institutions.
On behalf of the Jiangnan University delegation, Tian Bei expressed gratitude for the warm reception and detailed introductions. Subsequently, both parties engaged in extensive and in-depth exchanges on various topics, including the management mechanisms of Sino-foreign cooperative education, the construction of talent cultivation systems, innovations in education and teaching, and the development of majors and disciplines. Tian Bei noted that the ICI has achieved remarkable results and demonstrated distinctive characteristics in the practice of Sino-foreign cooperative education in the field of creative design, ranking among the leading institutions of its kind in China. He expressed their hope for strengthening regular exchanges and collaboration with the ICI to jointly advance the high-quality development of Sino-foreign cooperative education.
During their visit, the delegation also toured ICI’s spaces for teaching and experiments, such as the library, audio-visual printing innovation experimental platform, seminar room. Throughout the tour, they gained a detailed understanding of the ICl’s teaching facilities and the implementation of practical teaching activities, speaking highly of the well-equipped teaching conditions and the vibrant innovative atmosphere of the ICI.
