Recently, Professor Hu Wenping, President of Xiamen University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, led a delegation to Tianjin to conduct undergraduate recruitment promotion activities. The delegation comprised representatives from the Office of Admissions and Examinations, the General Alumni Association, the Institute of Creativity and Innovation (ICI), the School of Informatics, and the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. The initiative was structured around three strategic pillars: alumni synergy, policy alignment, and secondary school outreach.
On April 8, the team visited Xiamen University Tianjin Alumni Association and held talks with alumni representatives, including President Zhao Nan. Both parties engaged in in-depth exchanges on how to mobilize alumni resources, innovate promotional strategies, and enhance student enrollment quality. The alumni actively offered suggestions and recommendations, providing strong support for the university's student recruitment efforts in Tianjin.


On April 9, the publicity team went to Tianjin Education Admissions and Examinations Authority and had discussions with its Party Secretary and Dean Zhou Honglei, Vice Dean Wang Zelai, as well as relevant department heads and several principals from local high schools. Their discussions focused on the 2026 enrollment policy landscape, selection mechanisms for top innovative talents, and promotion strategy for enrollment in Tianjin. Consensus was reached on optimizing enrollment plans and strengthening collaborative promotion.
From April 9 to 10, the team visited Xinhua High School, Nankai High School, and Tanggu No. 1 High School in Binhai New Area, Tianjin. Through popular science lectures and admissions briefings combined with live Q&A sessions, the team showcased Xiamen University’s academic strengths and achievements in talent cultivation, vividly interpreting the essence and charm of Xiamen University, popularly dubbed as “The Strength of the South”.
At Nankai High School, President Hu Wenping gave a special lecture titled "New Organic Semiconductors and Organic Integrated Circuits", elucidating cutting-edge knowledge in the semiconductor field in plain language, stimulating students' interest and curiosity in science; At Xinhua High School and Tanggu No. 1 High School, Professor Xiang Qiao, Dean of the School of Informatics, and Professor Tu Song of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering respectively conducted science popularization lectures on computer networks and chemistry and chemical engineering. Meanwhile, three faculty representatives from ICI conducted recruitment presentations simultaneously.

On April 11, the team engaged in a large-scale university enrollment consultation fair, providing face-to-face guidance to candidates and parents regarding majors, admission policies, academic planning, and other aspects. The event saw vibrant interaction and enthusiastic engagement of attendees.
Tianjin remains one of Xiamen University’s key sources of high-quality prospective students. Xiamen University will deepen its regular collaboration with the Tianjin Education Admissions and Examinations Authority and local high schools, establishing diversified articulation mechanisms to help more students enter Xiamen University and achieve their ideals.
